Consent Carnival! August 2nd
🎪 Consent Carnival
A Playful, Consent-Based Connection Experience for Queer, Polyamorous, and Curious Community
Welcome to the Consent Carnival—a one-of-a-kind social experience built for laughter, low-stakes interaction, and community care. Whether you're new in town, craving connection, or just want to let your inner goofball out to play, this event offers a wide array of activities designed to spark joy, trust, and meaningful connection—without pressure.
🎲 What Happens at the Carnival?
The Consent Carnival is a guided group experience—each activity is led by a team facilitator who introduces the game, sets expectations, and creates a playful, consent-centered environment. Activities are done as a group, allowing folks to move together through laughter, trust-building, and connection.
You’ll cycle through a curated series of games designed to encourage curiosity, teamwork, and joy. Participation is always optional, and observers are welcome—this is a space where your “no” is just as valued as your “yes.”
🧠Sample Games & Activities:
Yes And
A goofy improv circle game where we build on each other’s ideas. Great for warming up!
Blindfold Maze
A trust game where one person gives verbal guidance while another navigates an obstacle path blindfolded.
Human Knot
Classic group challenge: untangle your human web through teamwork and laughter.
Compliment Toss
Toss a soft object across a circle—give the person who catches it a genuine, non-appearance-based compliment.
Egg Drop
Small teams build a contraption to protect a falling egg—creativity meets collaboration.
Open Fist
A paired trust game exploring resistance and consent through movement.
Follow the Leader
Mirror someone’s slow, expressive movement without speaking—connect through rhythm and attention.
Portrait Gallery
Gaze at someone silently, then sketch what you felt while witnessing them.
Quiet Sort
Nonverbal category sorting game—participants group themselves silently by shared traits (birth month, favorite animal, etc.).
Rock Paper Scissors Royale
A room-wide, silly tournament where everyone’s a winner in joy.
🛑 What This Event Isn’t
This is not a hookup, dating, or flirtation space. It's a nonsexual, nonromantic, consent-centered gathering where the goal is connection—not courtship. While you might meet people you vibe with, this is not the place to pursue those vibes. We encourage reflection and follow-up outside the space if interest is mutual and appropriate.
📜 Community Agreements
To keep the Carnival safe and fun for everyone:
All participation is opt-in, and verbal/nonverbal “no”s are always respected.
No alcohol or drugs on site.
Touch-based games are explicitly optional and always facilitated with boundaries.
We maintain a low-sensory chill zone for breaks and decompression.
Phones off or away during activities to maintain presence.
We’ll share a full list of expectations at the start of the event.
đź’Ś New Here?
If you're new to events like this—or have experienced social spaces that felt performative or cliquey—we see you. Consent Carnival is built for gentleness, growth, and realness. You get to show up exactly as you are, participate however you’d like, and be held in a space of mutual respect and curiosity.
